Linear LLC, the leading supplier of electronic products for a host of residential and commercial applications, is pleased to announce immediate availability of its new Battery Backup Unit (BBU). The easy-to-mount BBU accessory complements Linear’s popular DCO800 DC-powered garage door operator, and gives dealers enhanced opportunities for add-on and retrofit sales.

The compact BBU mounts entirely inside the LDCO800 enclosure, maintaining the aesthetically-pleasing characteristics of the DC operator, while delivering peace of mind to homeowners when power failure conditions occur. In the absence of AC line power, the BBU will continue to deliver power to the LDCO800 for up to 24 hours, depending upon when the door is first operated after the power outage.

Additionally, Linear will soon begin shipping LDCO800 garage door operators pre-configured to quickly accommodate installation of the BBU. The new operators ship with an updated control board (part number HAE00061) that is optimized for plug and play installation of the BBU. For retrofit applications, the HAE00061 control board is fully backward-compatible with all previous generations of LDCO800 operators.

“Our loyal dealer and distribution partners have already made the feature-rich, energy-efficient LDCO800 one of the most successful DC-powered operators in the market” said Larry Foisie, Vice President of Linear System Sales. “Our channel partners will now appreciate adding self-contained, compact and internally-mounted battery backup capability for the LDCO800.”

Linear offers a complete line of AC and DC powered garage door operators. All models feature interchangeable chain and belt drive rails, and can be easily converted to an I-beam rail.
