Steve Van Till, the President and CEO of Brivo Systems, will remain on the SIA Board of Directors for two more years
Along with four new board members, Steve Van Till, President and CEO of Brivo Systems, was recently re-elected to a second two-year term on the Security Industry Association Board of Directors at the SIA's recently-concluded annual meeting. "This is a very dynamic organisation with a central role in the security industry," Van Till said, reflecting on the experience over his first Board tenure. "I welcomed the opportunity to serve a second term because the sweeping changes happening in both the security and IT industries make this a very exciting time to advance the interests of our industry and the customers who depend on us."

"My own plans are to focus more attention on the growing standards movement in our industry, and I know this is a major priority for SIA. I have many years of standards-based experience outside of physical security in the IT and telecom markets, and I believe this perspective will be valuable for developing standards for our own industry."

Van Till continued, "At Brivo, I have nearly a decade of experience starting and running a cloud-based (Software as a Service) company. The cloud is the future for physical security, and what we've learned in the last decade is highly relevant to where our industry is going.  In this regard, you need look no further than the tremendous endorsement that the federal government has given this new computing model."
