Axis Communications, the global leader in network video, has welcomed Simon Cook into the position of Sales Engineer.

Simon will be responsible for delivering Axis Training Academy programmes and for the management of the Axis Academy in the UK and Ireland.  All Axis channel partner scheme members benefit from a structured training programme designed to derive the maximum benefit for resellers from the IP-Surveillance opportunity.  He will also be working alongside Axis reseller partners to help them to specify Axis products into their customer's installations.  The role includes producing plans and assisting the completion of tenders and bids and advising on implementation of IP-Surveillance systems.

Simon is joining Axis from communications integrator, Affiniti - the product of a recent merger of Omnetica, Technica and Kingston Communications' Business Services, where he worked for two years as a pre-sales solutions consultant specialising in public sector customers.  Previous to Affiniti, Simon worked for network infrastructure giant, 3Com, where he held the position of systems support engineer for six years.

Simon is a graduate with professional accreditations from leading vendors such as Cisco and Nortel and has an in-depth understanding of IP networking.

Steve Gorski, managing director for Axis Communications (UK) commented: "We welcome Simon to the Axis UK team.  Training is vital for our resellers and we look forward to Simon further developing our successful Axis Academy in this time of rapid growth for IP-Surveillance."

Simon Cook, sales engineer for Axis Communications (UK) responded: "It is very exciting to be involved with a progressive market leader such as Axis, especially at a time where IP-Surveillance has such a strong market."
