Axis Communications, global leader in network video, has for the first time signed up to join Norbain LIVE, an eight venue regional tour showcasing products from more than 30 leading surveillance brands.

Axis has joined the line-up of brands that will be featured at Norbain LIVE06, a regional roadshow showcasing products from leading surveillance brands.  Norbain, one of Europe's most successful distributors of CCTV, access control and intruder detection equipment, kicked off its fourth annual LIVE roadshow tour in Glasgow on 19th September.  LIVE06 will take in eight venues, finishing in Bristol on 12th October 2006.

Norbain LIVE is billed as an essential event for security professionals, providing a powerful platform for manufacturers to launch and demonstrate their latest security products.  With the addition of Axis, Norbain LIVE06 has attracted a total of 31 manufacturers - a new record for the event.  Visitors to the event have access to representatives from all of the participating manufacturers and the opportunity to attend seminars to discuss the latest issues affecting the electronic security industry.

Axis will be demonstrating its recently released AXIS 212 PTZ network camera, a pan/tilt/zoom camera, which has no moving, parts.  The camera offers a 140 degrees pan, full overview and instant pan/tilt/zoom to any selected area with a single mouse click.  Visitors will also be able to view demonstrations on the AXIS 216 FD and AXIS 225 FD fixed-dome network cameras, AXIS 221 and AXIS 241Q Video Servers plus Axis' camera management software suite - the AXIS Camera Station.

Both Axis and Norbain are actively educating the market about IP-Surveillance and explaining the incorporation of digital products even into existing analogue surveillance systems.

Steve Gorski, managing director of Axis Communications UK commented:

"We applaud initiatives such as LIVE06 as it provides a country-wide platform to explain the benefits of IP-surveillance to a wide security installer audience.  Transition from analogue to digital is certainly gaining momentum and we want to support installers with information and guidance to help companies reap the benefits of the growing IP-surveillance market."

Huw Edwards, marketing communications manager, Norbain added:

"The addition of Axis to the show really illustrates the growing emphasis on IP in electronic security.  We are proud to be able to offer visitors one of the most educational and informative events currently available in the security industry."
