Axis Communications introduces a new video encoder blade supporting high performance H.264 with true multi-streaming and two-way audio support on each channel, allowing operators to communicate with visitors. The new video encoder enables analogue cameras to be integrated into a more powerful IP-based video surveillance system.
AXIS Q7414 Video Encoder Blade brings the benefits of intelligent network video and audio to existing and new analogue systems. The image shows a racket with 14 four-channel video encoder blades.
"The new video encoder blade brings the benefits of intelligent network video and audio to existing and new analogue systems," says Erik Frännlid, Director of Product Management, Axis Communications. "With the new blade, Axis video encoder offering is the market's most comprehensive set of network capabilities, optimising the network video solution for security, efficiency and manageability."
The video encoder blade, which supports all types of analogue video cameras, convert analogue signals into digital streams that are subsequently sent over IP networks for viewing and recording on networked computers. AXIS Q7414 supports high performance H.264, with true multi-streaming from each channel. It has four analogue video channels as well as four bi-directional audio channels and can provide multiple, individually configurable video streams from each channel at full frame rate in all resolutions. The built-in phantom power source with adjustable input gain simplifies the installation of balanced microphones.
The new blade fits perfectly into AXIS 291 1U Video Server Rack and AXIS Q7900 Rack, which is a high-density rack solution with support for up to 84 analogue cameras.
AXIS Q7414 includes intelligent capabilities such as enhanced video motion detection and active tampering alarm as well as pan, tilt, zoom support on each individual channel. The video encoder blade is supported by AXIS Camera Station video management software, as well as the industry's largest base of application software through Axis' Application Development Partner programme. The product will be available in Q2 2011 through Axis' distribution channels.
