Axis Communications announced that the company is opening a new sales office in Russia (Moscow). There is great interest in network video in the region and by establishing a local office, Axis strengthens its presence on a market with development potential.
In connection to this, the company also announces that the installation in Moscow Metro today comprises more than 3000 Axis network video products and has potential for further installations.
By establishing a local office, Axis strengthens its presence on the Russian market. In Russia, one can see great potential for network video within new construction in particular, but also in transport and retailing as well as industry. Business on the Russian market has been conducted from the office in Lund for many years.
"The region has great potential. The growing markets in Russia make high demands on security within the public and private sectors," says Ray Mauritsson.
Axis network cameras and Axis video servers are now installed at three of the Moscow metro's 12 lines. The network video products are part of an integrated security system aimed at improving safety and security for passengers and staff on the subway trains. Allowing remote access to video on the moving trains, the products enable visual verification of alarms and quick responses by security personnel to any event. Moscow metro's video surveillance installation has been conducted by Axis' partner and systems integrator, Metrokom.
"I'm pleased that Axis has received an additional order from the Moscow Metro. I see the additional order as a confirmation of the high quality and functionality of the previously installed products," says Ray Mauritsson, President of Axis Communications.
