Axis Communications, the global leader in network video, teamed up with leading surveillance solutions provider Encom to present the benefits of integrating the latest IP surveillance technology to an audience of Irish security end users and consulting engineers.  The seminar was held at Croke Park in north Dublin, the home of Gaelic sports.

The seminar was jointly presented with representatives from Axis and Encom to explain the benefits of IP surveillance and how to integrate it into an organisation's network.  Both parties explained surveillance solutions they have been involved with, to highlight how IT servers, storage devices, video management software and wireless products work together to deliver an IP surveillance solution.

John Morgan, managing director and founder of Encom, told the audience about the success of i-Watch (Intelligence Watch) based in Citywest in Dublin.  i-Watch provides a remote monitoring service for thousands of properties across Ireland, utilising IP-surveillance to provide video feeds delivered to a central monitoring centre.

The seminar attracted senior security staff from across Ireland including representatives from Dublin City council, Trinity College, Dublin and Eircom in addition to leading consulting engineers.  The seminar was organised as part of Axis' growing commitment to support and educate the security sector to the benefits of adopting IP-surveillance.

John Morgan, managing director, Encom, commented, "We were delighted to be able to partner with Axis to present our IP surveillance solutions to such leading players in the Irish marketplace.  The technology advances in this area have accelerated rapidly over the past few years and the feedback that we got from this seminar suggested that many users are still being presented with outdated technology."

Steve Gorski, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) Ltd, commented, "We thank Encom for teaming up with us to stage this seminar to promote the benefits of IP-surveillance.  This seminar is part of Axis' package of support for different communities who are involved in specifying surveillance - with a team of 11 based in the UK, Axis is working hard to provide the support necessary for success."
