Axis Communications UK, the global leader in network video, has welcomed Daren Lang into the position of Business Development Manager.

Daren will be responsible for developing Axis' sales activities with installation and integrator partners and to spearhead the Axis Architecture and Engineering (A&E) programme.  The recently launched A&E programme is designed to support network architects, engineers and consultants who are responsible for designing and specifying IP-based security systems.  Consultants are typically drafted in to provide advice on larger scale infrastructure projects especially for public sector and enterprise corporate clients.

Daren is joining Axis from Panasonic Security Systems, where he had worked for the past 16 years, including the last 12 years working with the security systems division.  Daren has a broad base of experience, with four years as a Northern area sales manager, also four years as distribution manager and latterly taking responsibility for Panasonic's business development within the government and corporate channel.

During his last role with Panasonic, Daren was responsible for working closely with the consultant community and to help specifiers working on large-end user projects.

Steve Gorski, managing director for Axis Communications (UK), commented, "We are delighted to welcome Daren to the Axis UK team.  Daren has substantial experience working in the security industry, and specifically brings in skills and experience to help Axis assist the consultant community to ensure we can increase of our share of involvement in large capital projects."

Daren Lang, business development manager for Axis Communications (UK), responded, "IP is the growth area for security and I wanted to work with the market leader as Axis is the number one player in the IP arena.  I am looking forward to getting Axis closer to consultants as we understand the vital role they play in specifying security systems for the corporate and government sectors."
