Axis Communications' business development manager, Atul Rajput, will also speak at 11AM -11.30AM on Tuesday 23rd January in the Technical Seminar Programme. The title of this session will be ‘Dispelling the myths of deploying IP-surveillance'. The session will cover details on IP as a protocol for carrying video surveillance traffic as well as looking at the drivers fuelling demand for IP-Surveillance, whilst dispelling some of the myths holding back some deployments of IP-surveillance.
Henrik Virro, project manager at Stockholm Transport, where one of the most ambitious and far-reaching IP-Surveillance projects is being rolled out this year across its entire network of 2,100 buses, 13 commuter rail stations and 100 underground stations, will speak at 10.30AM on Tuesday 23rd January 2007 in the end user seminars area, about the merits of using IP-based systems and some of the benefits the new system is going to offer. Axis developed a network camera specifically for use in Stockholm Transport's buses - the AXIS 209FD-R. Five to six of these cameras are currently being deployed in each of Stockholm Transport's buses in what is likely to be the largest order ever taken by Axis.
Axis is also short-listed for three ‘IP in Security' Awards this year. Axis is short-listed in the Hardware category for the Axis 212PTZ Network Camera (the PTZ camera with no moving parts); in the Software category for the Axis Camera Station 2.0 (which has benefited from major improvement in this version recently launched); and in the Installation category for the implementation of 60 Axis network cameras as a key part of a state-of-the-art network video system installed by Encom at Data Electronics Group's highly secure data centre headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Winners will be announced at the IIPSEC Gala Dinner on the evening of 24th January.
Axis will also be conducting its annual survey at IIPSEC ‘07. Respondents who complete the Axis survey questionnaire in full will be given the opportunity to win an AXIS 207MW Network Camera. The winner will be selected out of a hat at the end of the event.
