Plustek and Axis Communications hold a successful seminar on network security and surveillance
Attendees had a hands-on demonstration of Plustek's mobile network video recorder, NVR 4200V
Plustek Technology Inc., a provider of surveillance and imaging solutions, recently hosted a half-day seminar discussing network security and surveillance with network video specialists Axis Communications. The event took place on Thursday 18th February at Birmingham University and was attended by a wide selection of security distributors, resellers and system integrators.

Improvements in technologies for recording and transmission have opened up several revenue opportunities for mobile video surveillance devices, especially in the transit bus, police vehicles and rail markets across the world. These technology developments have extended the scope of mobile video surveillance to include monitoring and training drivers to improve performance.

Seminar attendees gained a better understanding of mobile video surveillance's growing popularity in security and non-security applications, and how it presents new opportunities for solution providers. Plustek and Axis also provided an in-depth appreciation of the type of solutions and approaches available to today's security market.

Attendees also had a hands-on demonstration of Plustek's mobile network video recorder specifically designed for mobile surveillance in all types of public and commercial vehicles including taxis, vans, buses, trains, trams, limousines and heavy goods vehicles. Engineered to withstand the heavy vibrations generated by vehicles and temperature fluctuation, the NVR 4200V is built for dependability, long life and low maintenance.

Edward Hill, Business Development Manager, Plustek, said: "This was the third event we have done with Axis Communications and once again we were very pleased with the volume and quality of attendees. At the seminar we presented our attendees with an insight into the current and future market for mobile surveillance, as well as allowing them to see all the latest equipment from both companies. Wireless Logic and Korenix also provided delegates with an in-depth appreciation of the type of solutions and approaches available to today's security market."

As a result of the success of the event, Plustek and Axis Communications are already planning more seminars for later in the year.
