"This new software release is the latest in a series of actions that are all part of our commitment to open standards", says Dave deLisser, Director of Integration Business Development for Pelco by Schneider Electric. "We are a full member of ONVIF, and in December 2010, we hosted meetings of the Technical Committee and Technical Steering Committee of ONVIF."
Originally formed to create standards for interoperability in IP video security, ONVIF has recently established multiple working groups to develop a global standard for interoperability between network video products and physical access control systems. Pelco has made various technical contributions and holds leadership positions on some of the ONVIF working groups.
"Digital Sentry software is built on open standards to give integrators and customers the flexibility they need in designing and deploying IP video security solutions" says Yvonne Schwemmer, Product Marketing Manager for Pelco by Schneider Electric. "With ONVIF conformance, customers now have a significantly wider choice in the IP cameras they select for use with Digital Sentry."
"We are proud to be part of the growing adoption of the ONVIF standards, which is key to the success and growth of the IP physical security industry" deLisser says. ONVIF participation is just one of many ways in which Pelco by Schneider Electric works to deliver open and integrated video security solutions. Through its Partner First program, Pelco by Schneider Electric is developing solutions with more than 250 integration partners.
