Axis Communications, the market leader in network video, has announced that the company has received the "MAP Partner of the Year Award" from the international software company Milestone Systems.

Axis was selected to receive the "MAP Partner of the Year" award because of its excellent product range supporting common business goals, committed support to Milestone's collaborative certification and sales activities and a mutually strong local, as well as central partnership with Milestone.

Axis has worked with software developers for many years to offer the end customer tailor-made surveillance solutions.  The Axis Application Development Program (ADP) has been highly successful and today it consists of more than 400 partners globally, including Milestone Systems, which has its headquarters in Denmark.

Milestone has established relationships with the leading manufacturers of video surveillance hardware.  The company offers producers of network video hardware, such as Axis, the option to join the company's Manufacturers Alliance Program (MAP), which ensures that their hardware is supported by XProtect software.

In the UK and Ireland, Axis delivers an extensive package of support for Milestone, including the provision of Axis' UK training centre for Milestone certification training, Milestone partnering on the Axis exhibition stand at nine Norbain LIVE events plus regularly co-hosting at seminars.

Bodil Sonesson Gallon, Vice President Sales, Axis Communications, commented, "Axis is honoured to receive the MAP Partner of the Year Award.  It serves as confirmation of the efforts we have undertaken in offering open systems which makes it possible for our ADP partners to integrate their solutions with Axis network cameras.  By doing this we can together offer the best in network video solutions."

Henrik Friborg Jacobsen, Vice President Strategic Alliance Partners and co-founder of Milestone Systems, commented, "By focusing on common goals rather than differences, Axis has proven to be an excellent Manufacturing Alliance Partner for Milestone.  Axis shows a strong commitment to Milestone through joint activities within training, sales and marketing that sets Axis apart in the IP security industry."

Steve Gorski, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) Ltd, commented, "We enjoy a strong working relationship with Milestone Systems in the UK, and we see Milestone as a partner and a friend working towards the same goals.  It is true to say that the strength in partnership with Milestone is all across Axis from our product development right through to local level.   XProtect is an excellent product which uses Axis network cameras to their full potential, and we are delighted by this MAP award and look forward to further building on our joint successes."
