Winners awarded at the IFSEC International Security Industry Awards 2012
The Outstanding Contribution to the Security Industry Award went to Alun John, CEO of the Norbain Group

After a thrilling evening at the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham, UBM Live - organiser of IFSEC International, the world's largest annual security event - is pleased to announce the winners of the IFSEC International Security Industry Awards 2012.

Produced in association with the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and headline sponsored by Norbain Group, the awards were presented by sports pundits Mark Lawrenson and Dan Walker following a black tie dinner.

Acknowledging the people, products and technological advancements that have played a major role in enhancing the security sector throughout the past year, Charlie Cracknell - event director for IFSEC International - said: "I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to all of the winners and reiterate that the calibre of entries this year has been outstanding. The evolution of new security threats has meant that there is a continuous need for innovation across the industry, as demonstrated in each of the award categories, to drive the security sector forward."

Cracknell added: "I would also like to thank our panel of judges, whom I know had an extremely hard task to fulfil when it came to selecting their winners from such a praiseworthy pool of finalists."

The winners of the IFSEC International Security Industry Awards 2012 are:

CCTV System of the Year (excluding cameras and lens)

Intruder Alarm or Exterior Deterrent Product of the Year

Physical Security Product of the Year

Access Control Product of the Year (including biometrics)

Communication Product of the Year

Integrated Security Product of the Year

Security Project or Security Installation of the Year

  • Siemens - PPG Chemicals automated wide surveillance

Guarding Service Delivery to the Customer

Best Policing Partnership of the Year

Finally, the Outstanding Contribution to the Security Industry Award went to Alun John, CEO of the Norbain Group, who was recognised as one of the 'Founding Fathers of the security profession' and praised for his standing and achievements in the security world across the last three decades.
