D-Tec (Detector Techologies Ltd) - part of AD Group - will be using International Fire Expo 2007 to underline the success of its award-winning NetVu Connected FireVu IP (Internet Protocol) based VSD (Video Smoke Detection System) with a number of demonstration units on stand throughout the exhibition.

By combining VSD with video over IP - a first in the sector - FireVu takes D-Tec's conventional FM-approved Video Smoke Detection to another level in terms of its capabilities, and is ideally suited to large, voluminous, areas such as aircraft hangars and building atriums.

"With FireVu there is the potential to offer 24-hour remote monitoring of incidents, with alarm and associated video images distributed to an unlimited number of locations for review," said Ian Moore, Managing Director at D-Tec.

"In addition, as all alarm events are recorded on the system's Digital Video Recorder (DVR) these can be readily accessed for pre and post-event analysis.  Testing and diagnosis can also be carried out remotely and FireVu - which shares a common NetVu Connected technology base with other AD Group systems - can be integrated with a broad range of security and facilities management measures."

Already a number of D-Tec's existing customers have upgraded to FireVu - the ESB which is responsible for power generation in Ireland being a notable example - and D-Tec has a number of major new orders in the pipeline.

The innovative nature of FireVu was underlined recently when it was applied at London's Addington Hotel to protect its atrium, a project which received the FSE (Fire Safety Engineering) Best Engineered Solution Award through D-Tec's partner NUCAM.

Also at International Fire Expo, D-Tec will be highlighting its wider expertise in video analytics - as the AD Group specialist in this area - with solutions beyond fire protection being unveiled including (ANPR) Automatic Number Plate Recognition and the capability to identify when an object has been left or removed from a designated area.

Visitors to the D-Tec stand will also be eligible to enter a special motorsport competition with the winner having the chance to pay a behind-the-scenes visit to this year's Le Mans Series endurance race at Silverstone featuring the D-Tec sponsored, Le Mans 24 Hours winning, RML MG Lola EX264 race car.
