iView Systems, a leading provider of loss prevention solutions for the security and surveillance environment, announced its' partnership with Cognitec, a recognised leader in biometric facial recognition technology.

iView's modular iGWatch IP platform delivers seamless integration of Cognitec's face recognition engine, FaceVACS(R). Cognitec's software experts have been developing face recognition technology since 1995. In various independent evaluation tests including the Face Recognition Vendor Tests in 2002 and 2006 as well as the Multiple Biometric Evaluation in 2010, FaceVACS has proven to be the worldwide leading technology available on the market.

"By bringing together two leaders in their respective technologies, iView and Cognitec are able to deliver the best of breed in facial recognition platforms to the loss prevention marketplace," said Martin Drew, President, iView Systems. "We look forward to delivering Cognitec's proven biometrics engine with iView's security and surveillance expertise and iGWatch IP platform."

"We are very happy about our business relationship with iView Systems and the successful convergence of our two technological platforms, thereby reinforcing our commitment to provide leading-edge facial recognition technology to our customers," commented Alfredo Herrera, Cognitec's CEO.

iView's integrated suite of security and surveillance software solutions assist not only by increasing productivity, but also in reducing the associated losses and managing risk by the rapid identification of individuals involved in loss, threat creation and other specific activities. Facial recognition is another layer that can help enhance security operations in areas where it is important to verify the identity of people entering or leaving a facility.

iGWatch IP alerts are enabled with the level of detection & identification required for alert confidence level

The iGWatch IP Facial Recognition System delivers an automated, active, real time surveillance and identification solution providing event driven alerts based on individuals under watch or excluded status. This biometric solution replaces manual systems such as operator comparison of surveillance subjects to "mug" books, while automating database searches against the iTrak subject information module. The iGWatch IP System generates colour coded operator alerts with a match confidence level and presents both the live and stored database images, enabling the operator to make the final identification decision.

The iGWatch IP alerts are completely configurable to the level of detection & identification desired by means of the alert confidence level. Based on this confidence level, the system automates the subject database search, instantly narrowing down possible subjects from 1000's to one or more individuals in seconds. Once this match has been made, the full subject profile can be easily reviewed by simply double clicking the thumbnail image in the iTrak platform.
