Pixim Inc., a leading provider of image sensors and processors for enterprise security cameras, announced that it has appointed Thomas Ayers to the position of vice president of engineering and promoted Dr. Justin Reyneri to chief scientist.  Both Mr. Ayers and Dr. Reyneri will join forces to develop and implement next-generation Pixim chipsets across applications for the dynamically growing security camera industry.  Pixim chipsets are already incorporated into the world's leading surveillance cameras, currently in more than 100 security camera models that ship to more than 60 countries worldwide.

Ayers will manage Pixim's sensor, silicon, and firmware development and develop new products for next-generation video security cameras.

Ayers brings an in-depth knowledge of video systems and a proven track record of successes with more than 15 years executing complex, multidisciplinary projects at a variety of leading semiconductor companies.  Most recently, Ayers served as vice president of engineering at Broadlogic, developing breakthrough video-processing mixed signal products.  Prior to that, Ayers held the position of vice president of hardware engineering for Believe, where he built and managed their advanced 3D graphics engineering team.

To further enhance Pixim's focus on meeting the market's diverse needs, Dr. Reyneri has been promoted to chief scientist.  Dr. Reyneri joined Pixim, shortly after its founding, as director of software.  In this role, he made numerous contributions to Pixim's renowned core patented intellectual property and was a prime driver of Pixim's software, sensor and ASIC technologies.  Dr. Reyneri brings more than 25 years experience in electrical engineering and software design, including embedded system design, DSP, ASIC and FPGA architectures, and EDA tool development, as well as experience in entrepreneurial ventures, to Pixim.

Teamed with Ayers, Dr. Reyneri will address the next frontier in security cameras and continue to define Pixim's roadmap, as it develops image sensing and processing products for security cameras serving the new realm of applications and vertical markets, including retail, casinos, transportation, and video analytics.
