Leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle control systems consolidates operations

Delta Scientific, the leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle control systems used in the United States and internationally, today announced that it has reached the final phase of its four year infrastructure development plan and has moved its corporate headquarters from the company's former location in Valencia to its new manufacturing centre in Palmdale, Calif.  Delta will maintain its other U.S. and international offices.

On June 30, 2004, Delta Scientific first opened the $8 million, 125,000-square-foot manufacturing centre in Palmdale.  Just one year later, construction started on another 65,000 square foot expansion directly adjacent to it.

"With the enormous growth we've experienced over the past several years, we have looked forward to bringing our engineers, manufacturing leaders and other critical employees together so that they can work more closely," explained Delta Scientific President Harry Dickinson.  "By consolidating our operations into our Palmdale facilities, our team will be able to coordinate and communicate more quickly and efficiently, leading to greater productivity and responsiveness to the market and, most importantly, to our customers."

Delta's manufacturing centre in Palmdale produces the world's leading barricades, barriers, bollards, guard booths and other vehicle control equipment.  The facility includes a full metalworking department, including full metal finishing, abrasive cleaning and 150 welding stations, as well as a sheet metal department with press brakes, shears and punch presses.

Additionally, engineering, technical sales, product installation and maintenance services are provided through Delta's Lorton, Va. office.  Branch engineering offices provide local services.

With over 15,000 systems in 8,000 locations, Delta has supplied counter-terrorist barricade systems to over 160 U.S. embassies and consulates in 130-plus countries as well as those of the United Kingdom and other nations.  In the United States, Delta has secured over 110 Federal buildings, including courthouses and FBI locations.  Over 85 percent of all U.S. nuclear power plants are protected by Delta vehicle barricade systems.

Delta Scientific systems also protect the U.S. Capitol and other Washington landmark buildings, high-rises throughout the world, Broadway pedestrians in New York City, corporate facilities, the Singapore parliament, power and water infrastructure locales, European castles and the private homes of celebrities and influential people in Beverly Hills and other upscale communities.
