Honeywell recently announced the release of the 5800C2W Convert to Wireless Module, a device that enables retrofitting existing 12-volt security control panels of virtually any type or brand by converting wired sensors to Honeywell’s 5800 Series wireless technology. Up to nine hardwired zones can be easily converted to 5800 wireless protection zones—eliminating the cost of adding transmitters. The 5800C2W is a reliable solution that lets security professionals expand their connected home and building portfolio by offering Honeywell’s LYNX series of self-contained security systems to more users.

The award-winning LYNX Touch 5100 includes a bright, full-colour touchscreen display with intuitive prompts and icons that greatly simplify operation, programming and training.  It features 4G/Wi-Fi® alarm communications, Z-Wave® home automation, garage door control and more.  All LYNX systems are compatible with Honeywell Total Connect™ Remote Services, which provide security professionals with an excellent opportunity to earn additional recurring monthly revenue (RMR).

Converting wired zones to wireless reduces installation costs, time and materials. One-button calibration automatically configures the 5800C2W by learning what zones are in use.  By using the existing wired infrastructure, installers can eliminate the labour and expense of adding new transmitters to the system’s protection points. A power supply is included—letting installers power wired PIRs right out of the box. The 5800C2W is also ideally suited for use in new construction installations that have been fitted with hardwired systems.

Honeywell’s 5800C2W is available through security dealers across North America.
