The latest Honeywell offerings are based on cloud, mobile and connected systems |
Honeywell recently announced the key technology trends including cloud based solutions, the rapid proliferation of mobile devices, and easier system integration reflected in the new products and solutions that will be showcased at IFSEC International from 13th to 16th May 2013 - Stand E80 in Hall 4. Honeywell will present enhanced versions of several of its products that have drawn praise in the security sector for their abilities to simplify installation, operation and maintenance, while also helping installers to identify growth opportunities from the latest technology and security trends.
Cloud hosted video solutions, such as Honeywell’s MAXPRO Cloud, is a service that allows organisations to access their video surveillance systems anywhere there is an Internet connection. Leveraging the cloud enables end users to pay for the specific services and appropriate storage level their organisation requires without a large upfront capital investment. In addition it provides peace of mind for customers who are concerned about their system being vandalised or about missing events that take place while they are offsite.
“Our aim at Honeywell is to provide customers with innovative products and solutions that meet and exceed their expectations,” comments Daniel Wan, Channel Marketing Leader UK, Honeywell Security Group. “That is why we continue to invest in enhancing technologies such as cloud based applications, integrated solutions, and cost effective surveillance systems that are easy to use, configure and maintain, integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructures, and offer scalability to accommodate changing needs.”

False alarms are an ongoing issue for installers and security managers, wasting valuable man hours, Police time and disrupting the day-to-day operations of a business or residence. In this context visual verification technology is a highly effective way of ensuring that only genuine alarms are investigated. Honeywell presents the latest enhancements to Galaxy Flex integrated door control and intruder alarm system designed for small to mid-sized commercial and large residential sites. Enhancements include visual verification and multiple communication options. Galaxy Flex visual verification functionality provides customers with a more reliable method of verifying alarms compared to existing sequential and audio methods. A customer’s Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) will receive a series of pre- and post- alarm images, allowing them to quickly and easily verify a threat, identify the cause of the alert and thereby reducing false alarms, associated penalties and avoiding unnecessary use of Police and installer resources. Galaxy Flex is based on Honeywell’s trusted Galaxy technology and installers will benefit from one range for all installation needs and common peripherals, and the flexibility of multiple path communications options that eliminates recurring costs associated with third party communicator devices.

Integration is of growing importance to large organisations who seek more central visibility and control over multiple systems at once. Investing in IP products helps an organisation to future proof its assets and reduces the need for heavy capital investment. Honeywell showcases its ONVIF-compliant IP camera range which – in addition to integrating with Honeywell’s MAXPRO NVR SE and XE v2.5 network video recorder solution – is compatible with other third party systems. These solutions are also ideal for customers seeking a cost effective surveillance solution that requires higher image and picture quality even in low light, high contrast and changing light conditions.
To address some of the common challenges associated with security management, including high costs of compliance reporting, software and installation and to provide better visibility of alarms across different remote locations, Honeywell will demonstrate the newest version of Pro-Watch security management system and its web based monitoring solutions. The technology allows large enterprises to implement one solution that improves security, reduces risk and increases peace of mind across the enterprise.
Honeywell will also demonstrate the wide-ranging possibilities offered by access control solutions to suit any budget and business demand. Honeywell’s latest access control systems such as NetAXS-123 provide single, scalable and backward compatible solutions that can adapt as businesses evolve, and can reduce significantly the costs of access control and video integration.
In the residential space, customers are increasingly demanding real-time and integrated security solutions that can control all technology in users’ homes and businesses from any Internet-enabled device, including smartphones, mobile tablets, PCs and laptops. Visitors to the stand can see and test first hand some of Honeywell’s new residential solutions such as Honeywell Total Connect 2.0 remote security and home management system that tie together all of the technology used in the home and will bring new revenue and growth opportunities for your business.
