artec technologies AG, the manufacturer of digital video surveillance systems and TOSHIBA TEC Europe, the manufacturer of retail information systems, have reached a distribution agreement for IP network cameras in Europe. TOSHIBA TEC already has 12 years of experience in the CCTV (Closed Circuit TeleVision) area and commands a strong marketing position in both the USA and Japan. The unique feature of Toshiba network cameras is their Super CCD Technology in HDTV quality. These cameras target customers who place very high demands on image quality as well as the identification of both persons and small objects.
artec technologies AG will first launch the Toshiba IK-WB21E, a megapixel SpeedDome camera. In addition, this network camera is also equipped with the "Honeycomb" Super CCD chip, which enables image resolution and quality never before obtained. Working with this technology, a Fujifilm development, the newest network cameras are optimally suitable for camera surveillance systems which focus on personal identification and the detailed reproduction of wide-angle recordings. In combination with MJPEG compression, this camera will overlook no details. Thanks to its synchronized, bi-directional audio function, it is possible to listen in on objects and/or directly talk to persons. The camera has a fast pan and tilt motor and a motorized 22-fold autofocus lens. Additional important functions include motion detection, pre- and post-alarm recording, alarm messaging and a day/night utility. With the integrated SD-card slot, alarm recordings can be stored on an SD memory card. As a result, important images do not get lost in case of an interruption or disruption in the network.
