Aurum is one of the largest luxury jewellery chains in the UK, offering prestigious jewellery brands including Watches of Switzerland, Mappin & Webb and Goldsmiths. The chain operates 100+ stores throughout the UK.

The challenge

Aurum’s jewellery stores had experienced an increase in robberies during opening hours, which led to substantial losses. To combat these robberies, Aurum had security smoke manufacturer Concept Smoke Screen’s devices installed throughout their branches. The smoke generators work by flooding the window areas of the stores with huge amounts of smoke upon activation, blocking the jewellery from the robbers’ vision. Concept Smoke Screen required a flexible and fully integrated management solution to provide real-time visibility and status of all devices. The solution would have to enable Smoke Screen to remotely monitor all devices 24/7, and to remotely respond to an event involving the devices.

The solution
