 Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies
Ingersoll Rand takes off at Heathrow Airport, UK
Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies has supplied bomb blast resistant doors and Martin Roberts steel doorsets throughout Heathrow Airport's new Terminal 5.  The building was designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership at a cost of £4.3billion.

Due to tens of millions of passengers using the facility each year, it was vital that this iconic building would be as accessible as possible.  It also had to be highly secure from the risk of terrorist attack and other threats to public safety.

As a result, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies was chosen to supply a number of products to offer added security and protection.  Dor-O-Matic bomb-rated automatic doors were specified and installed on the main entrances throughout the terminal building.  The new bomb-rated doors are the perfect solution for projects requiring a blast-resistant, secure, bi-parting automatic door system.  They are able to withstand the blast overpressures associated with a vehicle bomb and provide protection from high velocity shards of glass being projected into an occupied area.

Martin Roberts fire & acoustic steel doorsets and stainless steel mesh gates were installed in customer interface areas, toilet blocks, stairwells and the multi-storey car parks.  Ideal for the transportation sector due to demanding criteria set by high volumes of traffic and likely abuse, the steel doorsets combine strength, durability and aesthetics to provide innovative high performance door products.

This large specification pulled together the complementary products which Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies has on offer to meet the diverse and different requirements of such a complex scheme.
