Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies has broken its own timescale record in supplying Martin Roberts steel doorsets to off-site specialist Yorkon for a project to help the flood-hit community of Workington in Cumbria.

With both vehicle and pedestrian bridges over the river Derwent swept away during the flooding, the town was effectively cut in two. Working with Portakabin subsidiary, Yorkon, Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies supplied two single and one double steel doorsets for a new 13,300sqft purpose-built interim Tesco supermarket - which was open and trading just 13 days after start on site.

The doorset order was processed in one day and a team of three multi-skilled workers were assigned the task of manufacturing and completing the order as quickly as possible. As a result the complete doorsets were supplied on site within four days, instead of the usual 3-4 weeks Fast Track Service.

Martin Roberts Fast Track steel doors, available in various pre-designed styles and options, are factory prepared and reinforced to facilitate accurate and time-saving installation on site. They are sold complete with complementary hardware sets selected from the high quality and stylish Briton range. Customers using the Fast Track Service benefit from a combination of choice, performance and speedy delivery. Most of the hardware is Grade 304 stainless steel with fine brushed finish and colour coated silver on door closers and panic hardware, with alternative finishes available to order.

The new supermarket is operating in addition to Tesco's main store in Workington which remains open but out of reach to the thousands of residents cut off on the north side of the River Derwent. This new supermarket allows the communities in the Seaton and Northside areas of Workington to avoid a detour of up to 40 miles to Workington town centre after bridges were destroyed or closed following the floods.
