The Interflex IF6040 access control system installed in the York accommodation included IF4072 controllers and MFP700/WO2 online access readers
Interflex software incorporates both online and offline technology to offer an integrated security solution

Industry leading provider of secure door technologies, Ingersoll Rand, has installed its Interflex security software in private accommodation in York after another prestigious contract win.

The accommodation project, which is a joint venture between contractors Ashcourt Property Management Ltd and property developers Nixon Homes, is designed to offer a safe and secure environment for students who attend the University in York.

The Interflex software installed by Ingersoll Rand incorporates both online and offline technology to offer an integrated security solution. Negating the need for a mechanical lock and key system, which can be costly to maintain if keys are lost or stolen, access is controlled by smart cards. The system also provides an audit trail, allowing additional visibility of usage should it be required.

Dave Bulless, UK & Ireland Customised Solutions Sales Leader for Ingersoll Rand, comments: “We’ve worked closely with Ashcourt Property Management Ltd previously on a similar project in Hull, so we were delighted to be able to deliver the new system for the York development. Through the application of our unique Interflex access control system and PegaSys door security technology we’ve been able to ensure that the property and tenants’ belongings are protected.

“Our integrated online and off-line approach is always supported by a complete, thorough and efficient installation process which ensures that all our clients receive the highest level of support not just whilst working with us, but long after the installation has been completed.”

The Interflex IF6040 access control system installed in the York accommodation included IF4072 controllers and MFP700/WO2 online access readers protecting perimeter doors and gates. This was complimented by more than 400 PegaSys off-line lock terminals which were used to provide flexible protection around areas like bedrooms, common rooms and internal corridors using network on-card technology via the students’ access card.
