ISC West had a grand opening sponsored by Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies
Already recognised as the security industry’s largest gathering, ISC West grew again this year with 180 new exhibitors bringing the total number of companies and brands to over 1,000. Soon after the grand opening, sponsored by Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, the show floor was humming with excitement as hundreds of new products were unveiled for the first time and the aisles swarmed with attendees crowding the booths and talking business with new and past associates.

“Almost from the very beginning, we were busy, talking with prospects in a buying mode for bollards, barriers and barricades,” reported first time exhibitor Delta Scientifics’ Vice President Greg Hamm. “Our results have been beyond our expectations.”

The second day of the SIA Education @ ISC featured a panel discussing “The State of the Industry: What Will it Take to be a 2020 Security Leader?” It was a call to action for more persuasive solution innovations and business case studies. Included in the many sessions were several on the cloud and school security and safety.

Among companies honored in this year's 34th SIA New Product Showcase (NPS) Awards, which had a record-setting number of entries, was the winner of the Best New Product, the Lynx from Innovative Security Design.  The SD&I Fast50, honoring the industry’s most dynamic growth companies, designated Securityhunter, Tech Systems, Kratos Public Safety & Security Solutions, American Integrated Security Group and Vision Security as the past year’s top five achievers. Last night, The SAMMY Awards, Security Sales & Integration magazine's annual salute for the best sales, marketing and installation endeavors named Advanced Technology (Scarborough, Maine) as Installer of the Year amongst small to midsize companies, and for large companies, TycolS (Boca Raton, Florida) took the title.

On April 11, the day began with the annual Security 5K Run/2K Walk where close to 400 participants, running and walking to raise funds for Mission 500, a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving the needs of children and communities in crisis. It was also the final day of the lauded SIA Education @ ISC series, with topics covering almost every aspect of security and safety. At 4:30 pm in Room 2003, Security Industry Group LinkedIn members were able to attend the LinkedIn’s Security Industry Group networking event, sponsored by ISC West.

Also, 10th Annual SIA Ride for Education raised money for the SIA First Responders Scholarship, which provides awards of $1,000 to law enforcement officers and fire-fighters for job-related education and training. The ride was held on Saturday, 9:00 am at the Las Vegas Harley Davidson store.

Attendees accessing ISC West info on their iPad, iPhone, Droid, Blackberry or e-Reader found the Show especially easy to navigate.
