ACTi empower Nextan, a system integrator in Singapore, successfully enhanced the security system for NUS museum.ACTi empower Nextan, a system integrator in Singapore, successfully enhanced the security system for NUS museum.  They installed a total of 50 channels in NUS museum.

NUS museum was established in 1997, and was formerly called the National University of Singapore Museums.  Located in the University Cultural Centre in scenic Kent Ridge campus, it manages a growing number of collections housed under-one-roof.  The Ng Eng Teng Gallery, and the South & Southeast Asian Gallery will be added to the existing Lee Kong Chian Art Museum as a new annex for contemporary art.

NUS museum decided to use an IP surveillance solution to enhance their existing analogue security system.  ACTi IP surveillance solution provides a cost-effective video server and its video quality is better than a DVR solution.  Furthermore, ACTi NVR provides full functioning for central recording and management.

The surveillance solution in the museum included 4 units of SED-2610 (8 channels video server) and 10 units of ACM-3311 (IR IP fixed dome camera).  This equipment is installed in exhibition rooms, reference rooms and the main entrance.  In the control room ACTi NVR (64 channels management software) is used to record and manage the whole 50 channels.

"ACTi video server is a cost-effective solution and the compact design and excellent video quality of ACM-3111 is the best choice for the museum," said by Sean Tan, Sales Director of Nextan.
