Theia will demonstrate the new 5 megapixel SL183 lens at the ISC West security exhibition in Las Vegas, April 6 - 8, 2011 in booth #6047
IQinVision to use Theia's new 5 megapixel SL183 lens with their Sentinel and 700 series megapixel cameras
IQinVision, maker of high-performance HD megapixel IP cameras, will offer Theia Technologies' new 5 megapixel SL183 lens for use with their Sentinel and 700 series megapixel cameras. The new 1.8 - 3mm focal range lens adds a wider field of view option to the lens selection previously offered with those cameras.

According to Don Ashley, Product Manager at IQinVision, "The ultra wide, undistorted images captured by IQinVision's megapixel cameras with Theia's SL183 lens made our decision to offer this lens to our customers easy. Theia's SL183 is an ultra wide lens we can recommend without hesitation for use with the IQ700 and Sentinel Series megapixel cameras."

The SL183 offers a powerful combination of true megapixel resolution and IR correction in a compact envelope of only 50mm long. The IR corrected lens maintains its crisp, clear megapixel resolution image in IR illumination making it a perfect for use with IQinVision's megapixel day/night cameras, with removable infrared-cut filters. And the EasyZoomTM feature allows the user to optimise the field of view with minimal need for refocussing. Theia will demonstrate the lens at the ISC West security exhibition in Las Vegas, April 6 - 8, 2011 in booth #6047. IQinVision will demonstrate the lens there as well in booth number #3100.

The new SL183 lens leverages Theia's patented Linear Optical Technology® platform to offer an ultra wide field of view without distortion in the flexibility of a varifocal model. The lens provides up to 115 degrees undistorted horizontal field of view (HFOV), providing the opportunity to cover more area with a single camera, potentially reducing the overall cost of system ownership. The award winning technology uses all optical distortion correction to remove barrel distortion without the use of software. Compared to typical wide angle lenses, Theia's technology increases resolution at the edges of the image improving the ability to recognise subjects.
