Leading control room furniture manufacturer Winsted has released the newest and perhaps the greatest version of WELS, its unique Winsted Equipment Layout Software (WELS) version 4.

Winsted have reworked the software with the end-user in mind. The biggest change is the improved look and feel. The equipped version 4 has been revamped with a completely redesigned user interface with exciting new features promised to streamline the design process and improve the user experience.

The software is easy to use and requires no additional design/CAD software to operate, the stand-alone PC-based ‘Design in 3D' package allows customers to layout control rooms to their own specifications, using Winsted furniture components from their vast range including the company’s new EnVison and ESoc product lines.

Provided as a ‘no-cost’ download via Winsted’s website (www.winsted.com), WELS allows a complete control room to be created and furnished, and viewed from a variety of industry standard perspectives, to provide customers with the ultimate control of their choice of furniture.

Complete with automatic overall dimensioning, basic ergonomics and fit can all be checked and brought to life with useful equipment accessories, including LCD monitors, keyboards and DVR’s.

When each design is completed, comprehensive component lists and design specification sheets can be easily generated; making the transition from ‘virtual’ layout, to a finished and operational control room, an easy proposition. WELS designs can also be saved in a variety of formats, for use within other programs.

Commenting on WELS 4, Winsted’s General Manager, Terry Shough enthused: “The new WELS further complements our bespoke customer design service, by providing a practical tool that aids customers with their decision making. It enables end users and installers to create hi-quality designs, allowing them to try out several options and identify the best solution. Effective design has always been Winsted’s formula for complete customer satisfaction and WELS will help to continue this ethos, as we continue to expand our customer driven business.”
