VIVTEK's VP of Engineering and Operation Steve Ma, a driving force behind an in-house SoC for IP video cameras
VIVOTEK is dedicated to delivering high quality security solutions
Steve Ma, VIVOTEK's VP of Engineering and Operation, has won the Outstanding I.T. Elite award, presented by Taipei Computer Association as part of I.T. Month.

"I would like to thank Taipei Computer Association for this opportunity and the judges for their recognition," said Steve, "I would also like to congratulate my fellow winners and pay my deepest respect."

Fresh out of National Taiwan University's PhD program of Electrical Engineering in 2000, Steve joined VIVOTEK and became one of the founding members. With strong IC design background, Steve was assigned to the SoC team, which later became VATICS, a subsidiary of VIVOTEK.

Steve was one of the major driving forces behind the creation of VIVOTEK's own in-house SoC dedicated to IP video cameras. The technologies Steve had in mind at the time, including MPEG4 codec, D1 resolution at 30 frames per second, were all became implemented in VIVOTEK's products later.

"Steve has grown tremendously since the day he set foot at the door of VIVOTEK," said Owen Chen, Chairmen of VIVOTEK. "His passion and desire for innovation, however, have remained still, and are only getting stronger."
Another contribution Steve has made to VIVOTEK is the new megapixel series, which has taken the company's product line to the premium level. Now internationally recognised and well established in over 80 countries worldwide, VIVOTEK continues to demonstrate excellence in the security industry.

The Chairman also takes strong pride in the brand and attributes its success to Steve's leadership skills. "Steve never ceases to seek creative ways to improve team building and motivate our R&D teams, while setting the finest example for his staff," Owen added.

Steve, along with key members of VIVOTEK and many other industry elites, will be attending the award cemetery on December 3, 2011. According to Taipei Computer Association, the Head of Executive Yuan will be present to bestow the trophy and the certificate.

"I would like to dedicate this honour to the entire VIVOTEK family, who has been my greatest motivation all along," Steve said. "I couldn't have done it without them, and together, we continue to deliver world-class security solutions and make the world a safer place."
