Manipal Press streamlines security with the help of IP cameras from VIVOTEK
A total of 26 VIVOTEK IP7131 network cameras were installed around Manipal's production facility
India's Manipal Press sought a CCTV surveillance system to monitor the production process as well as employee activities. VIVOTEK's system integrator in India helped Manipal to deploy such a system using VIVOTEK's IP network cameras.

Solution

A total of 26 VIVOTEK IP7131 network cameras were installed around Manipal's production facility. The newly launched ST7501, a 32-channel central management software platform, was also used to enhance system administration efficiency. Client software was also installed at corporate headquarters located five kilometres from the factory.

An IP7131 camera was installed every 60 metres so that the entire production area was covered, including passages, loading/unloading bays, the reception area, warehouse, shredding room, IT room, server room and administrative offices where network infrastructure were already in place. The cameras were connected to the facility's LAN via PoE-enabled switches, reducing cabling costs.

Achievements

The IP surveillance system has significantly improved the administrator's control over the entire production process and administrative areas. "The system is helping us monitor the factory in real-time. I can control the process activities effectively while sitting in my cubicle," said the administrator. "Also, the scalability of ST7501 really benefits us a lot because we plan to scale up the system in the future to meet our growing needs."
