VIVOTEK announced the launch of the compact, day & night network camera IP8336W, the company’s first wireless camera for outdoor applications. With an attractive, glossy housing, the camera is especially ideal for high-end residential, boutique store, department store, or museum surveillance applications.

With a 1-Megapixel CMOS sensor enabling 1280 x 800 resolution video at 30 fps and a removable IR-cut filter, the camera is capable of capturing high quality video under changing lighting conditions around the clock. The built-in IR illuminators provide coverage of a distance of up to 5 meters, securing video quality under low light situations.

IP8336W is designed with a weather-proof IP66-rated housing, protecting the camera from damage caused by rain and dust. With integrated 802.11b/g/n wireless, IP8336W realises a faster-than-ever video streaming for situations where network cabling may not be feasible. With the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) feature, configuration over a wireless network connection is simple and painless. In addition, IP8336W supports real-time H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG triple codec compression technology. The video size can be reduced significantly and network bandwidth conserved without sacrificing image quality. Together with ST7501 multi-lingual 32-channel recording software, users can easily set up an IP surveillance system with the IP8336W.

Steve Ma, VIVOTEK’s Executive VP, stated, “We are pleased to present our first outdoor wireless camera, the IP8336W. For years, we have listened to the market and understood customers’ needs. This time, by taking into consideration of the advancement and popularity of wireless technology, VIVOTEK has developed the IP8336W with a stylish look and many advanced features, not only meeting the market needs, but also strengthening our overall product portfolio. IP8336W, without a doubt, is the ideal camera for outdoor wireless surveillance.”
