Videx Security’s Portal Plus is a networkable access control system with Windows based programming and management software. It can support up to 15000 users and an unlimited number of entrances. Portal Plus allows great flexibility in the design and installation of an access control system, with its modular design and a wide range of robust readers with the latest additions including an external (IP65 rated) finger print reader, a desk mount USB proximity fob/card enrollment reader, compact IP65 rated back lit keypads and Mifare readers compatible with Mifare Classic, Mifare Ultralight and MifareDesfire (13.56MHz).
All readers have the same modern functional design and are available in a number of attractive finishes which will complement various decors. Other readers include proximity, bio-access, coded access readers with back lit illumination, non contact fob/card access and coded access readers are available as well as an illuminated “touch to exit” switch. A panel mounting version of the fob/card readers can also be incorporated into most Videx audio or video door panels.
The Portal Plus is based on two doors per control unit - available with or without integral 3.5A switched mode power supply - and including an RS485 bus that will link up to 50 doors (25 controllers expandable with the use of RS485 splitters and repeaters). In addition, an optional integral Ethernet connection (TCP/IP) is available allowing controllers to be connected to an existing LAN or WAN with the potential expansion to an unlimited number of doors.
The system includes distributed intelligence, allowing the systems to continue functioning even during times of network problems. Both anti pass back and mantrap options are available as standard as are free inputs and outputs that can be programmed according to the user’s needs.
The user friendly Windows based software allows the addition, editing or deletion of users and includes finger print enrolment integrated into the software. Using this in conjunction with the desk mount USB finger print reader, eliminates the need to enroll a user twice.
