Sony showcases its latest SNC-VB632D outdoor IP camera for the first time at ASIS International 2014

Sony Electronics’ Security Systems Division invites visitors to visit Booth 3406 at ASIS International to see how the company is building upon its legacy of superior image quality. Visitors to the Sony booth will be able see:

4K technology, the latest evolution in imaging technology. 4K is a resolution four times higher than Full HD (1080p), which means it provides much more detail and better clarity than what can be seen on current HDTVs. This level of image detail means that video can be magnified and examined down to the slightest detail. In addition, it allows users to simultaneously monitor a large area and a specific object. Users can also more effectively monitor entire scenes, as well as tiny movements in confined spaces.

Sony’s SNC-VB632D, the company’s latest outdoor IP camera, which is being shown for the first time at ASIS International 2014. This is a full HD infrared bullet camera with a dual lighting system featuring an infrared (IR) illuminator and a white LED illuminator. The camera can be configured to automatically switch from IR black and white mode to white LED colour mode when motion is detected, which makes it ideal for deterrence, safety and better recognition with colour video. The SNC-VB632D is an ideal all-in-one camera for transportation, city surveillance and other complex environments.

Retail solutions, featuring the SNC-HM662, Sony’s first 360-degree IP camera. Its five megapixel image sensor and panomorph lens from Immervision help the camera achieve about 30 percent higher resolution and much better image sharpness toward the edge of a frame than a traditional fisheye lens. It is an ideal complement to any system, providing improved situational awareness for large spaces, such as retail stores, offices, schools and parking lots. Sony will also feature the SNC-XM631 as part of its retail solutions exhibit. This is a compact, indoor, full-HD mini dome camera with an impact resistance rating of IK10. The SNC-XM631 also features wide dynamic range of 90dB, an SD card slot, 3-axis adjustment for viewing, and image stabilisation.

Transportation solutions, featuring Sony’s X Series of IP cameras. The X Series cameras are the company’s first to be rated for use on board buses and trains. They include ultra-wide angle lenses that cover the tight spaces inside a bus or train. All of the X Series cameras are vandal resistant, deliver full 1080p high definition video, utilise image stabilisation technology, and feature 90dB of wide dynamic range to help improve video quality in changing lighting conditions.

Sony’s E Series IP Cameras, part of the company’s widely used series of IPELA ENGINE™ EX IP cameras. The SNC-EB632R and SNC-EB602R feature infrared (IR) capabilities and Sony’s Exmor® CMOS sensors, which provide exceptional light sensitivity. They also combine Sony’s wide dynamic View-DR technology and built-in IR illuminators. This helps identify close and distant objects and generates excellent colour video in various lighting environments. Clear black and white video is produced even in darkness as low as 0 lux with its built-in IR illuminator.
