The ASIS 14th European Security Conference & Exhibition will cover a wide range of security issues in 44 high-level educational sessions divided over 4 parallel tracks

Dr. Thomas de Maizière will introduce the economic security architecture in Germany

ASIS International, the world's premier organisation for security management professionals, has announced that Dr. Thomas de Maizière, Federal Minister of the Interior of Germany will be a keynote speaker during the opening plenary at the ASIS 14th European Security Conference & Exhibition on 30 March.

This unique business summit will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, on 29-31 March 2015 at the Messe Frankfurt.

As a keynote speaker Dr. Thomas de Maizière will give us a comprehensive overview of the security situation in particular for the industry and introduce the economic security architecture in Germany. This includes focus areas of the security authorities, e.g. countermeasures against crime and espionage also in cyberspace.

Speaking about his participation in the event, Dr. de Maizière said: “The collaboration between the public and the private sector is a key element of economic security. At international level, sharing our experiences can only be good for us because ultimately, we all face the same challenges.”

Dr. Thomas de Maizière studied law and history at the University of Münster and the University of Freiburg. In 1990, he helped establish the office of minister president of the last government of the German Democratic Republic and was a member of the delegation negotiating the Unification Treaty. From 1994 to 2005 he was head of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomeranian and later Saxon State Chancellery. In Saxony, he was also state minister of finance and then state minister of justice and state minister of the interior. From 2005 to 2009 he was head of the Federal Chancellery. Since October 2009 de Maizière has been a member of the German Bundestag. From 2009 to 2011 he was Federal Minister of the Interior, then Federal Minister of Defence until December 2013. Since then he has been Federal Minister of the Interior.
