upgraded P2000 enhances information technology to improve real-time system performance, reliability and system administration
The P2000 system integrates video surveillance, fire alarms and building management systems

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building technology and services, now offers more options for customers to protect their people, property and assets. The company will unveil updates to its P2000 security management system, now compatible with Authentic Mercury™ access control hardware from Mercury Security Corporation®, the world’s largest provider of open platform access products, at the 59th annual ASIS International Summit and Exhibits September 24-27 in Chicago, Ill.

The P2000 system integrates technologies including video surveillance, fire alarms and building management systems to provide customers with a single view of their building’s security and operational performance.

“Building security and performance is all about access to information when seconds matter,” said Tammee Thompson, vice president and general manager, global security and fire solutions, Johnson Controls. “Without the right integrations, you can’t get the right amount of information.” She added that the compatibility with Mercury means that the Johnson Controls security system can now link to legacy access equipment worldwide - protecting customers’ existing investments in access control.

The upgraded P2000 enhances information technology to improve real-time system performance, reliability and system administration. A new archive support server stores data for up to 30 years and generates scheduled reports. Administrators can now manage, authenticate and authorise access to P2000 data through Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Active Directory®, the industry standards for distributing critical information over Internet Protocol (IP) directory services.

“More customers are integrating security and building systems to track people and property while lowering energy and operational costs,” said Thompson. “Integrations are practically endless.”

Public and private organisations worldwide use Johnson Controls Technology Contracting™ to create connected environments where business, building and specialty systems, including the P2000 and other security and fire technologies communicate. For example hospitals can use radio frequency identification tabs to track medical equipment. Schools and businesses can link their lighting and HVAC systems to access control data to lower their utility costs in empty spaces.

Johnson Controls will offer demonstrations of the P2000 security management system at booth #2422 at ASIS International. For more information, visit http://www.johnsoncontrols.com/asis
