A-Series locks signify the highest level of security and control for ATM vaults and complements S&G’s quality ATM locking solutions portfolio
S&G is well-known within the ATM industry for providing the robust A-Series ATM locking system

STANLEY Security, a leading provider of access control and integrated security solutions, announces updates to Sargent & Greenleaf’s (S&G) A-Series™ ATM Access Management System at the ASIS International 59th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2013), September 24-27 in Chicago, IL.

S&G is well-known within the ATM industry for providing the robust A-Series ATM locking system to manage multiple vendor access to the ATM using time-expiring, one-time-use codes along with electronic keys.  Used across the globe, the A-Series locks signify the highest level of security and control for ATM vaults and complements S&G’s quality ATM locking solutions portfolio which also includes the time-honoured mechanical dial locks as well as the innovative line of Titan multi-user electronic locks.

Updates to the trusted A-Series technology include recently released firmware and software improvements, as well as the development of an Android mobile app to be released by the end of the year. The A-Series “Field Service App” (FSA) will be optionally used by field technicians for troubleshooting by reading and programming keys.  The ability for properly authorized personnel to quickly analyze the lock settings and then make adjustments to the lock will greatly reduce costly ATM downtime that any ATM operators who use OTC locks may have previously experienced while waiting for keys to ship to a branch software system and back.

In addition to these upgrades, the A-Series ATM Access Management System also includes the following features:

  • Multiple authentications for greater access control: Including a four-digit PIN unique to the individual user, an assigned touch key and a valid one-time-use code generated by the system software
  • Improved one-time-codes (OTCs): A-Series one-time-use codes will expire if not used within the operator-specified time window, which significantly reduces risk of theft, as the code is not “live” indefinitely if not used.
  • Fast, easy installation: Easily retrofits onto existing and new ATMs – fewer parts and no spindle cutting speed up the installation process and reduce installation errors.
  • No close seal required: The A-Series does not require entering a close code into the system software before generating a new code for the lock, saving time and eliminating the risk of out-of-sync codes.
  • No vendor meets: While traditional solutions require parties to physically meet at the ATM when initially assigning service mode access rights and again if changes in service providers occur, the A-Series utilizes secure file transfers to facilitate ATM access authorizations – a unique technology that saves time and money while allowing greater control of subcontractor access.
  • Multi-language software: A-Series Lock Management Software (LMS) meets global ATM deployment needs by offering multiple language options. End-users may select from one of the standard languages, or translate LMS screens into any other language using the LMS Custom Translator feature.

“The A-Series solution combines state-of-the-art access control software with S&G’s high-security lock technology to provide ATM manufacturers, banks, ISOs and armoured car companies with unprecedented ATM security,” said Nate Brown, Marketing Director of S&G. “In a highly sensitive vertical market, A-Series is a trusted technology that helps simplify and streamline ATM access while significantly improving security.”
