Videoswitch have come to the aid of the Bracknell branch of the Samaritans by donating one of their VDC-4 digital video recorders.
The VDC-4 DVR forms part of a security system installed by the Samaritans to ensure their volunteers can care for callers and visitors in a safe and secure environment.
Roland Simmons, Managing Director of Videoswitch said: "We are very pleased to be have been able to help this very important voluntary organisation. The work that they do is universally respected."
The VDC-4 is ideal for the Samaritans' purposes as its intuitive controls make it easy for any of the volunteers operators to operate. Maintenance costs are minimised as the hard drives are removal allowing installers to service or upgrade a machine without having to remove it from site.
James Ingram, Chairman of the branch, which also covers Ascot and Wokingham said: "We want to express our thanks for the donation of the VDC-4. It really is essential for our security purposes and we are absolutely delighted with it."
The Samaritans are available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of despair. The first branch opened in London in 1953. There are now over 200 branches and approximately 20, 000 volunteers.
