The Mosaic Group, one of the UK's largest fashion retailers, has ambitious plans to expand into Europe and has decided to stay committed to a British manufacturer to supply the digital video recording equipment for its new branches.
As part of Mosaic's drive into Europe, Videoswitch DVRs have so far been installed at stores in Amsterdam, Dublin, Hamburg and the Hague with more to follow in the near future.
Mosaic, renowned for its highly fashionable but affordable clothing, trades under a number of prestigious brand names including Coast, Karen Miller, Oasis, Whistles, Warehouse, Principles and Shoe Studio Group.
The group, which has already installed Videoswitch in over 100 of its UK stores, looks to its managers to take the lead in respect of reducing shrinkage. Part of that process is to get the best out of the CCTV system. Ease of use is therefore important, according to Mitch Haynes, Mosaic's Head of Security:
"With just a little training, our staff find the Videoswitch DVRs very simple to operate the controls are on the front of the machine and just three key presses allow the transfer of video evidence onto a CD to hand over to the police or local linked crime initiative."
The Videoswitch DVR includes a CD writer which provides a convenient and rapid built-in means of getting evidence out of the unit. No special software is needed to replay footage from the Videoswitch DVRs, making life a lot easier for police reviewing footage from a store as part of a criminal investigation and the video footage can be replayed on a standard PC.
