TeleEye is thrilled to announce the launch of the TeleEye GX680 Series, a new generation of digital video recorders. TeleEye GX680 Series is a range of 4-, 9- and 16- channel digital video recorders, which are specifically designed for recording and securing video data captured from TeleEye network cameras and other ONVIF Profile S cameras.

Longer recording and cost saving

With the trend shifting from analogue to HD, a common concern for end-users, is that more data storage and bandwidth is required due to an increment in data size. TeleEye GX680 Series has incorporated the unique TeleEye HD SMAC- M multi stream video coder* with four independent video streams allowing simultaneous HD video recording at a maximum resolution of 1080p. This is made possible by compressing the HD video to a smaller size of up to 50% less compared to a H.264** video coder, leading to faster transmission via different network environments, smoother video streaming, occupying less storage resources, and allowing longer recording time simultaneously.

Guarding the doors of an open system CCTV

Many ordinary IP cameras available on the market have been proven to be insecure as their designs are based on open standards. This means their architectures are available on the internet for all to access. This is a critical threat to those in high profile industries such as the banking and government sectors. If you are using an IP camera then your video footage may already be at risk of being viewed by unauthorised third parties. At TeleEye, data security is always an important factor; therefore the new GX680 Series is specially designed for hacker resistance. The GX recorder itself is configured with five anti-hacking layers, which are used to prevent anyone who tries to access your video footages without authorisation, hence shielding off any hackers’ attacks via the internet or across public networks.

Making ONVIF cameras more secure

As IP cameras are based on open systems, this means that hackers are able to access the live video footages remotely. However for those who have already installed these H.264 IP cameras, need not worry. TeleEye GX680 Series is not only able to enhance the security level of all TeleEye IP cameras but also for other IP cameras in compliance with ONVIF Profile S standards. The GX recorder has the ability to completely separate the video network from an IP network. Meanwhile, it provides extra protection for the video data during internet transmission, so that hackers are not able to decode the data streams. This solution is able to safeguard the users’ confidential information effectively
