TDSi, a global leader in access control systems for all sizes of businesses and organisations will be exhibiting its range of controllers and biometric readers at IFSEC West Africa 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria, from 6th to 7th of March 2012. The company will be joining its local partner Rapid Vigil Security Company Ltd on stand 20, hall 1.
TDSi and Rapid Vigil Security Company Ltd will be demonstrating SOLOgarde, a stand-alone access control system which can be used to control a single door and up to 1,000 users. Typically used for a small to medium installations, the controller gives all the functionality of a networked controller but in locations where the network is unavailable, or difficult to use. Also on display will be the MICROgarde controller, an easy to install networked controller that integrates with TDSi, or any third party readers and is capable of linking up to 200 MICROgarde controllers with up to 10,000 users through IP connection.
TDSi will also showcase DIGIgarde PLUS, a multitasking fingerprint biometric access control and time and attendance reader that is compatible with fingerprints, MIFARE cards and PIN numbers. The reader can be used in stand-alone mode for time and attendance applications and to control access to a single door, or can be integrated into an access control system, which allows real-time event monitoring and central system programming and control.
Visitors to stand 20 will also be able to hear about case studies that Rapid Vigil Security Company Ltd and TDSi have worked on in West Africa, such as Stanbic Bank, where a networked access control solution was supplied. Four sites out of over 140 have been completed to date, utilising MICROgarde controllers and EXprox proximity readers to provide a highly secure system managed by TDSi’s EXgarde software. The systems are to be rolled out across Stanbic’s branch network and control access to the bank’s high security areas.
The partnership provides TDSi with a greater sales reach in the West African market, whilst giving Rapid Vigil Security Company Limited full access to the company’s high quality products and top-tier support services. It is a significant move into the region, as TDSi Managing Director John Davies comments, “We have a well-established market penetration in the French-speaking northern African regions, but working with Rapid Vigil Security Company Limited means we now have access to Western Africa in conjunction with a highly trusted and skilled partner that knows the market and the customers extremely well.”

IFSEC West Africa is an annual event that attracts a great deal of attention from across the globe, attracting over 90 exhibitors and over 2,000 visitors in 2011. This year promises to be even bigger, with a Security Seminar running over the two days on Homeland Security and Critical National Infrastructure and Security and Safer Cities.
