SECOM Plc has been awarded a contract to supply CCTV systems for high-street retailer New Look. The contract specifies that SECOM is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all CCTV systems in all new stores, in addition to all store refurbishments.
Last year, SECOM Plc won a competitive tender for the integrated security system project at New Look's purpose built distribution facility located in Lymedale, Newcastle under Lyme. This is a flagship facility for New Look, covering an impressive 420,000 square feet, thought to be the largest automated clothes distribution centre in Europe. The security system included digital CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and public address system across the site.
SECOM provided a comprehensive turnkey solution that fulfilled all the criteria of the security requirements, including maintenance and monitoring of the alarm and fire systems at its Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Equipment used in the installation was supplied from Norbain, Honeywell, TDSi and Mifare.
New Look's distribution facility serves over 530 stores located around the UK and Ireland. New Look is one of the fastest growing high street, fashion retailers and takes an innovative and forward thinking approach to protecting its business. David Shepherd from New Look comments: "SECOM's presentation was superior from the outset. We were impressed with SECOM during the distribution facility project; they demonstrated attention to detail, quality workmanship and ability to complete the installation ahead of schedule."
SECOM has been tendering for and winning the security installation business with New Look stores nationwide since 2004, including the alarm systems at New Look's head office in Weymouth and the CCTV contract for supply, installation and maintenance throughout all New Look stores. SECOM will be completing the CCTV installations in new stores over the next two years.
