Samsung bullet camera and digital video recorder professionally captured the record attempt

When Gloucester cyclist Jamie McDonald set off on his latest challenge, he had one thing in mind - to become a world record holder.

Having already cycled a whopping 14,000 miles from Bangkok, Thailand to Gloucester, the 26 year old from Tredworth wasted no time in getting back onto the saddle where he set sights on emulating the current record of 264 hours for the longest ever static bike ride.

His eleven day journey began on Saturday 8th December 2012 and it was 290 hours and 18 minutes later that he smashed the record, raising over £20,000 for Gloucestershire based charity the Pied Piper Appeal along the way.

If he was to certify his record, Jamie and his team knew they needed the latest equipment to record his incredible challenge from start to finish and that’s when he turned to Allcooper.

Allcooper provided a Samsung CCTV solution including a Samsung SCO-2080R bullet camera and SRD-1670 digital video recorder to professionally capture the entire record attempt. Following his epic achievement, Jamie was full of praise for the safety and security specialists. “Without the help of Allcooper, my record attempt simply couldn’t have happened. Making sure we had trustworthy and reliable equipment was so important to us and we can’t thank Allcooper enough for the help and support they gave us.”

Roman Cooper, CEO of Allcooper also expressed his delight at seeing Jamie complete his challenge. “When Jamie asked for help from Allcooper in supporting this incredible record breaking feat, we wanted to help him. We always try and go the extra mile for our customers and felt that Jamie’s record reflected this ambition. Of course, having reliable and effective recording of the attempt was critical to its success and we were delighted to be able to provide this - although, to be frank, the cameras and recording equipment were straight off the shelf from our standard product range. It’s tried and tested and we knew it would do the job.”

The money raised by Jamie’s challenge will be used to improve the school and play rooms at the Gloucester Royal Hospital Children’s Centre.
