The new Samsung NVR provides real-time recording capability at 30 fps

Samsung Techwin America, a global supplier of video surveillance and security products combining superior performance and value, introduces a new high-quality, high-performance network video recorder (NVR) line at ASIS, each providing real-time recording capability at 30 frames-per-second (fps), CIF resolution and a dual H.264/MJPEG codec.

Samsung's iPOLiS SRN-1670D 16-channel NVR supports up to 16 network video streams in VGA, 4CIF, 1.3 megapixel or 2 megapixel resolutions. Recording rates are up to 120 fps for 1.3 or 2 megapixel images and up to 480 fps for 4CIF high-resolution images. Samsung's iPOLiS SRN-470D 4- channel NVR records up to four channels of 1.3 megapixel, 2 megapixel or 4CIF input at 120 fps.

Record modes include manual, scheduled (continuous/event) and event (pre/post). Recording is selectable for up to 30 seconds of pre-alarm recording and up to six hours of post-alarm recording. Features include a DVD writer and USB port for easy backup. The embedded Linux operating system uses H.264 and MJPEG compression and records 48 Mbps.

"Our new series of NVRs incorporate H.264-based compression and provide high-quality video recording and playback for virtually any application, including smaller installations," said Frank DeFina, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North America, Samsung Techwin America. "These products are great additions to our offering of IP video surveillance solutions, and they reflect the level of performance and value that users and integrators expect from the Samsung global brand."
