Edward Wassall has experience in networked video and access control solutions 
 Wassall will handle development aspects of Samsung's IP technology and security product portfolio
Samsung Techwin America, a global supplier of video surveillance and security products delivering superior performance and value, announces the appointment of Edward Wassall Ph.D. as Director of IP Product and Business Development. He will report to Frank DeFina, Samsung's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North America.

Dr. Wassall brings to Samsung an extensive knowledge of networked video and access control solutions and a background in IT security and network design. He will manage the sales and development aspects of Samsung's IP Technology and Security product portfolio. Dr. Wassall will work with Samsung's field management teams to increase sales of the IP Security product line and to develop and maintain high levels of product value and industry recognition. He will also continue to work closely with the ONVIF standards body as Samsung's contributing member.

Working for 17 years in two stints at Anixter, a national distributor, Dr. Wassall was director of systems engineering, vice president of integration services and later vice president of national IP solutions. Previous employers also include SBC DataCom, where Dr. Wassall was Vice President of national integrations services (1999-2003); and GECO Systems, where he recently served as Director of systems engineering (2011).

Dr. Wassall's education background includes a Ph.D. in information technology from Webster University. He is a CISCO Network Professional, Certified Cyber Forensics Specialist, Certified P.E., and is Pelco- and OnSSI-certified.
