Samsung's new ONVIF compliant SNP-5200 1.3 Megapixel High Definition network PTZ dome camera incorporates a true day/night camera and features a 20x optical zoom lens for unrivalled flexibility. "The SNP-5200 is an impressive addition to our iPOLiS 1.3 Megapixel network camera range," said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager at Samsung Techwin Europe Limited. "Despite being competitively  priced, it is packed full of features and ‘bandwidth friendly' which make it the ideal choice for a very wide range of applications where a high definition PTZ dome is required as part of an IP based video surveillance system.

The SNP-5200 utilises Samsung's WiseNet1 DSP chipset allowing users to gain maximum benefit from the very latest megapixel camera technology including license-free Intelligent Video Analytics and dual streaming H.264 / MJPEG compression to provide the option to simultaneously transmit images to multiple locations at various frame rates and at different resolutions.

With such a wide range of compression methods and resolutions to choose from, a number of different users, if authorised, are able to simultaneously monitor live images at one location, record video evidence at another or view live and recorded images on a Smartphone or iPhone via the Samsung iPOLiS application. At the same time JPEG images of an incident can be attached to an alarm email notification with the additional facility of storing pre and post-alarm images on a camera's internal SD memory card. What's more, dual Ethernet and BNC connectivity provides an upgrade path for hybrid security systems and allows it to be easily set up using standard test monitors.

The built-in license-free Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) capability includes optical tripwire and enter/exit direction detection, as well as an Appear/Disappear function to detect the movement of objects. IVA also has a scene change tampering function which creates an alert if, for example, paint is sprayed on a camera lens or there is unauthorised movement of a camera away from its usual field of view.

Four programmable Motion Detection zones, eight programmable Privacy Zones, bi-directional audio support and PoE (Power over Ethernet) are just a few of the impressive features built into the SNP-5200 .

The SNP-5200H, which is being launched at the same time as the SNP-5200, shares the same list of features but incorporates an IP66 housing to withstand extreme environments from -50°C to +50°C. Both models are offered with an extensive range of accessories and brackets to provide a choice of wall, pole, parapet, pendant, corner and ceiling mounts. Available from Samsung distributors, the SNP-5200 and SNP-5200H are offered with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd., including free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty.
