Samsung Techwin’s SVD-4700, a vandal resistant dome camera
, The SVD-4700 features an adjustable 3-axis day/night camera module with an integrated IR cut-filter
A combination of a 12x optical zoom (10x digital), W-5 chipset, coaxial control compatibility and a host of technically advanced features should ensure that Samsung Techwin's SVD-4700, is able to successfully compete for the attention of installers seeking a competitively priced vandal resistant dome camera.

Weatherproofed to IP66 and featuring a rugged die-cast aluminium body with tough polycarbonate lower dome bubble, the SVD-4700 features an adjustable 3-axis day/night camera module with an integrated IR cut-filter to provide true day/night operation and incorporates Samsung Techwin's W-5 DSP chipset, the new ‘engine room' of the company's mid-range product offering.

The W-5 DSP chipset equips the SVD-4700 with greater stability and articulated image processing to deliver ultra crisp and sharp colour images at 580 TV lines resolution from its 1/4" chipset, whilst a sens-up capability of 512x allows the cameras to capture superb quality colour images at lighting levels far below that of other day/night cameras. It also provides third generation Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) to eliminate image noise in low light conditions without creating ghosting or image blur and Samsung Super Dynamic Range (SSDR), which deals with challenging dark areas across the entire scene to balance the image and reveal detail that is otherwise hidden in the shadows.

Alongside manual operation of the zoom, the built-in motion detection capability of the SVD-4700 enables the camera to automatically zoom in to a pre-determined position when motion is detected and revert back to the starting position after a set period of time. This makes it perfect for areas where recognition of people or vehicles is required along with a wider overview of the scene.

All the features incorporated into the SVD-4700 DSP chipset are programmable via fourteen language on-screen menus that can be accessed remotely from the comfort of the control room using built-in coaxial control compatibility. This allows both video and telemetry to be transmitted via coaxial cable, giving full access to camera set-up and pan-tilt-zoom functions via a compatible digital video recorder.

The SVD-4700, which is supplied with a full three-year warranty, can be directly flush or surfaced mounted on ceilings or walls and is also compatible with Samsung Techwin's range of wall, pendant, corner, pole and ceiling fixed dome mounting brackets.
