Samsung Techwin's SNC-1300 megapixel network IP camera
Samsung Techwin's SNC-1300 is the first of a new generation of high performance Megapixel network cameras
The first of a new generation of high performance Megapixel network cameras, the Samsung Techwin's SNC-1300, is packed with features and functions to enable users to capitalise on the very latest advances in IP surveillance technology.

Images captured by Megapixel cameras are made up of considerably more pixels than standard CCTV cameras and as a result deliver a far higher quality picture. Images from a standard 540TVL camera, for example, are typically made up of 473,820 pixels where as the SNC-1300 is made up of 1.3 million pixels.

The SNC-1300 incorporates Samsung Techwin's proprietary MPEG-4/JPEG dual-codec technology to achieve clear images and real-time multi-streaming with a high data compression rate - up to 20ips at 1,280 x 960 resolution or up to 25ips at 1,280 x 720 resolution.

Supporting multiple protocols and equipped with privacy masking and motion detection features, the SNC-1300 is a true day/night camera with built-in IR-cut filter.  When movement is detected or an alarm is activated, the SNC-1300 can be programmed to immediately transmit the alarm-generated image to a client's e-mail address.

An SD card slot enables easy file storage and back-up with a 2GB memory card supplied as standard. Bi-directional audio ensures not only can sounds and conversations be listened to at a remote site, but also warning messages and instructions can be issued from the control room to those remote sites.

The SNC-1300 delivers up to 1,280 x 960 resolution images utilising Progressive Scan technology. Progressive Scanning is a method for displaying, storing or transmitting moving images in which all the lines of each frame are drawn in sequence. This is in contrast to the interlacing used in traditional CCTV cameras where the odd and even lines of each frame are alternately drawn. The benefits include the absence of any visual artefacts and a higher vertical image resolution.

A built-in web server allows up to five users to simultaneously monitor video captured by the cameras from the comfort of their individual PCs and the SVM-S1 Centralised Management Software (CMS) supplied with the SNC-1300 camera helps users to establish an effective network management system with convenient visual monitoring options including various events and map images.

Varifocal lens option

To ensure users can achieve maximum benefit from the SNC-1300, Samsung Techwin has also introduced the SLA-M2882 lens specifically for use with megapixel cameras. The SLA-M2882 is a  1/3", 2.8-8.2mm varifocal Megapixel lens making it possible to achieve the desired field of view.
