Samsung Techwin's SND-460V network dome camera
Samsung Techwin launched SND-460V, a network dome camera equipped with a dual codec
Samsung Techwin has launched a network dome camera equipped with a dual codec to allow users to capitalise on the benefits of Video over IP.

The SND-460V provides the option of simultaneous real-time transmission of both MPEG-4 and JPEG images, enabling users at separate locations on a network to choose how they wish to view live images captured by the camera.

Vandal resistant and weatherproof to IP66, the SND-460, supplied with a varifocal lens, is a true day/night camera with an integrated IR cut-filter. A Highlight Compensation feature (HLC), "sees through" bright light sources making it possible to read car number plates even when facing car headlights.

"A die-cast aluminium vandal resistant body and a tough polycarbonate dome make the SND-460V an ideal choice for virtually any general surveillance application," said Peter Ainsworth, Product Manager for Samsung Techwin. "This superb static dome has built-in video analytics which detect the appearance or disappearance of objects and a SD Card slot to locally store event images on the camera. As is the case with all new Samsung Techwin cameras, the SND-460V is also equipped with the second generation of Samsung's Super Noise Reduction technology (SSNRII), which eliminates image noise in low-light conditions."

Motion detection, digital image stabilisation (DIS), privacy masking and dual voltage options, plus a Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability, are just a few of the advanced  features built into the SND-460V which is able to capture high quality images even when lighting levels are as low as 0.15 lux.
