In a crowded professional security camera market place where there is no shortage of manufacturers competing for the attention of users and installers, Samsung Techwin has yet again demonstrated its determination to retain its market leading position and stand out from the crowd with the launch of its high definition WiseNet Lite series.

The three bullet cameras and seven domes in the new WiseNet Lite series have been introduced to provide Samsung Techwin customers with keenly priced alternatives to the highly acclaimed, feature rich, Open Platform WiseNetIII models.

High performance video surveillance solutions

“We fully understand that in a competitive world, the best way we can continue to support installers, systems integrators and our business partners throughout Europe, is to provide a wide range of options which can collectively meet the budget limitations, as well as functionality requirements for any video surveillance project,” said Tim Biddulph, Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “WiseNet Lite allows us to offer a high performance video surveillance solution for small shops and offices which just require high definition cameras to capture evidence grade images, whilst it also provides an affordable solution for much larger projects where hundreds of cameras may be required.”

The 1.3MP and 2MP Full HD WiseNet Lite models share many of the features built into the WiseNetIII range, including Intelligent Video Analytics, motion detection, privacy masking zones, audio support, PoE and a SD/SDHC memory slot. They also feature LDC (Lens Distortion Correction), which compensates for the image distortion that can occur with wide angle lenses.

Minimising bandwidth & video storage

Samsung Techwin has also equipped the WiseNet Lite cameras and domes with a Hallway view function for the monitoring of narrow vertical areas such as corridors, tunnels and aisles. It enables the camera to capture images with a 9:16 x 3:4 aspect ratio that works effectively in tall and narrow spaces with the added bonus of minimising bandwidth and video storage requirements.

The new models in the WiseNet Lite range are:

  • SND- L6013: 2 Megapixel Full HD network dome camera
