Sintel selected RISCO Group’s ProSYS Integrated Security System with professional indoor and outdoor detectors as the solution that met all requirements
Sintel selected the platform after seeing a real time demonstration at RISCO’s offices in Italy

One of Italy’s largest electric utility companies operates numerous sites across Italy. Sintel Italia, a major system integrator that has been in the field of professional security systems for over 27 years, took on the project of securing the company’s offices and production sites.

The challenge

The electric utility company required protection of their dispersed sites, each containing a three-story office building and an electricity production plant. The plants are extremely sensitive because improper use of their facilities can result in a widespread power outage. Additionally, they contain dangerous levels of electricity that should be accessed only by authorised personnel. The company required a totally integrated solution for securing their dispersed sites.

Furthermore, in the past each site had been managed separately by a local security manager. This separate site management was inadequate as it required employment of a full time security manager for each site, even though there was not enough activity in one site to occupy him. Another drawback was that the sites could not be monitored in real-time from outside the premises.

The company wanted a more efficient solution that would reliably secure the sites, decrease security personnel costs, and provide integrated security management of all sites from a single regional department control room.

The solution

Sintel chose RISCO Group’s SynopSYS Integrated Security & Building Management Platform to monitor and control the sites. The system enables the electric utility company to get an overall picture of all sites in real time from one intuitive user interface. Sintel selected the platform after seeing a real time demonstration at RISCO’s offices in Italy. They were impressed with its stability, flexibility and ease of use.

Additionally, Sintel selected RISCO Group’s ProSYS Integrated Security System with professional indoor and outdoor detectors as the solution that met all requirements. RISCO’s iWISE Grade 3 detectors with Anti-Cloak Technology for detecting camouflaged intruders are installed, as well as RISCO’s award-winning WatchOUT outdoor detectors. WatchOUT reliably detects intruders while they’re still outdoors, using Selective Event Recognition to distinguish between real intrusion events and the many false alarm causes inherent in the outdoor environment.

Highlights

  • Sintel chose SynopSYS Integrated Security & Building Management Platform that enables control and monitoring of all sites in real time from one central control room, by a single security manager.
  • ProSYS Integrated Security System with high-end motion detectors secure the electric utility company’s multiple sites.
  • WatchOUT Outdoor Detectors effectively protect the sites’ perimeters while eliminating false alarms.
  • iWISE detectors with Anti-Cloak Technology reliably catch intruders by switching to microwave-only mode either when room temperature is close to body temperature or when a cloaking attempt is identified.

The customer’s point of view

Sintel is extremely satisfied with the reliability of RISCO Group’s solutions, and particularly values the ability to manage the ProSYS systems with SynopSYS Intregrated Security & Building Management. Sintel noted that RISCO Group “has been very responsive, providing quality customer service.” Furthermore, the platform has reduced costs for the electric utility company, and has made the management and protection of their dispersed sites much more efficient.
